The History Channel lives up to it’s name

Browsing around the news sites, I came across this headline:

History Channel Dumps Right-Wing Kennedy Miniseries for Errors, Lies, Defamation

“‘The Kennedys,’ a fictionalized miniseries, was a right-wing smear job on the former president, apparently portraying JFK as a money-hungry dictator…” “it’s hard to imagine any station turning down a sure ratings boon in lieu of its principles.” The rest of the article is here: History Channel Dumps Right-Wing Kennedy Miniseries for Errors, Lies, Defamation | AlterNet

I haven’t any comment on the right wing’s continued attempts to warp history to their own belief system. If they insist on having their own facts as well as their own opinions it doesn’t really matter to anyone except those too dumb to find the facts for themselves. I am however pleasantly surprised by the integrity of The History Channel in refusing to be renamed ‘The Revision Channel’. Maybe I shouldn’t be, but mass media and integrity haven’t exactly been walking hand in hand for the last couple of decades (with a few small shining exceptions of course). A well deserved pat on the back for the folks at The History Channel.
